With a little patience and handcrafting, your pet's endless shedding can become anything from a cozy toque or an elegant scarf to a sweet teddy bear momento to be treasured for years to come. I am happy to offer a custom pet hair spinning and knitting service to the Williams Lake area.

Chiengora is a special luxury fibre on its own, but there is nothing like having something made from your own dog's hair.

Please note that the best hair for spinning chiengora is brushed hair with fibres at least an inch long, preferably two. Clipped hair is more difficult to spin and must be at least two inches long; however the end result will be bristly and unsuited for wearable accessories. Momentos such as a teddy bear or key-chain heart may still be possible.

Sometimes it is best to blend your dog's hair with wool, either to stretch the amount further for a larger project, or to give the dog's hair more elasticity and durability for an accessory that will get a lot of use.

• Start by collecting your pet's hair. Feel free to contact me to discuss what accessory your pet's hair would be best suited to be crafted into.
• When you have enough fiber for your desired project, I will inspect the fiber and we can confirm your order with a 50% deposit.
• Once I start work, wait time varies but usually spans two to four weeks. The hair will be washed and carded before spinning, then washed again to set the twist in the yarn. After being made into your desired accessory, it is often washed again.
